as i've posted last time regarding her mouthing while carrying a prey, Now i started following Flink's Focus & grip video and calm her down while she is carry tug and she looks fine but when i let her catch the prey and i let her run circle for holding the tug then she starts to mouth. ....

besides, i also use a long line tied to one end of the tug and make it live. the minute she holds it i let her carry by running around. she carries fine and she has lots of drive but she mouths back.

also, if i let her bite she always tries to bite the tug handle and if i let her hold after she catches she chooses to hold from the handle side. i've tried to put the handle inside my one hand as it has one handle and hold with two hands but she bites few times on the tug and then starts looking for handle to bite. once she gets the handle part she doesn't let go.

do i need to get longer tug as i've around 8-10inches long or should i keep continue what i'm doing now  as i started doing this recently?

i let her carry the tug out of the ground and then i use two orbee balls to play with her.

is playing ball can make her mouthy while carrying tug?

on each session i always start with basic obedience then go back to play tug and later ball.

do you think i should just work on bite for now?

would really appreciate to hear any comments and feedback.

thanks much.

The MOST important thing you can do is to find a club you like and get some guidance. Even by watching Bernhard's excellent video, one can still do a lot incorrectly. Poor training is worse than no training. Get someone who can help and evaluate the dog first, and then help you with a training plan. And no, the dog should not be biting the handle and you have to prevent that. What you should be working on based on your short email, is probably teaching the dog to have some desire to play with you and then learning how to get some attention from the dog and later turning that into quick obedience that is fun for the dog.

Good luck.
