Me too! I might use it on my moms JRT..... but NOT a GSD

I tried it on my first GSD, it did stop pulling, while it was on; but she learned nothing from it. The next time she wore a plain collar, she returned to pulling. So, we stopped using it, & went to a pinch. No more pulling, whether the pinch is on or off. Besides, it makes a beautiful, dignified dog look like a dork. JMHO. jh

Pinch collar is a prong collar.

I've used a Gentle Leader on a male that's reactive to bikes and joggers.  It certainly can work in that case, but I agree, I don't see it does anything to help with pulling.  The dog can just bend it's head down and pull.  I've tried it on other dogs and they spend so much time scratching their nose and flailing around that it just isn't worth it.

A pinch collar is a chain link collar that has protrusions toward the dog on every link. When you give a correction, the prongs squeeze the dogs neck. They look brutal when they are hanging in the store, & if not used correctly, they can be. However, if they are used correctly they are very effective training tools, & save the dog from having a damaged trachea from over use of a choke chain. There are a few good sites & references to look to when learning about pinch or prong collars, Leerburg's site is one of them. Key is that the collar must fit correctly & sit close to the dogs head; not be loose, &/or low on the neck. Try to find someone experienced to show you how to apply & use the collar. Good luck! jh
