The risk's are the same I would guess regardless of age.

The risk's are not that great really.    Don't panic.   You will be taking the pup to the vet soon enough and he can test for everything.

P.S.    If you can still find the spot where the tick was use a little alcohol on it.

if the ticks were carrying an infection (and it is likely they were), it is possible that an infection might not show up for some time. Were they engorged with blood? Or just crawling around?

I would talk to the vet about a prophylactic use of a broad spectrum antibiotic. Then, all you who are so worried about chemicals can think about this situation. Would you rather take the risk that one of those ticks was positive for something or treat assuming they were and hope no infection is established at all? You could send the ticks for testing as well if you want to spend some money! But especially when the dogs are so young, becoming infected may make them very ill and have long term consequences in some cases.

I've got so many tick bite's,  I'm more worried about myself than the dog's.   I wash the site with alcohol is about all I can do.

We have had human case's of spotted fever and lime's here, and this year, west nile.     I think the odd's are small enough I'm not going to panic or lose sleep.   I did demand shot's from my doctor one year because he didn't know lime's from chicken soup and I wasn't taking any chance's.  I had the rash.

I have only had one dog in twenty year's treated for a tick born disease, they can test for it and it's not that expensive.  I usually have all pup's checked out for everything at six month's.

my other dogs every now and than had a tick no big deal, but recently one of them finally got tested positive for Lyme, so that is why I am extra jumpy when I see tick now, than ever before.

Well I am going to sleep at least I'll try I worry extra this is the best dog I ever had, everything clicks, she is a total package for me would hate if anything would happen to her, no matter what, and I told that vet that it is not about many I don't care about that when comes to her, but he was like "well this works good too and we put her on frontline in a month when she riches the second LB bracket"

Stupid me for sahying yes to that, I always use frontline and get pissed at everyone else when I hear they using something else!!! Stupid me!!!!

I hope your course of antibiotics was long enough, Moons. A good buddy of mine had the same thing happen, then 10 years later he started getting sick again. He was on IV antibiotics for several months for the recurrence of Lyme, the gift that keeps on giving. Don't mean to scare you (or Snaiper about his puppy), but Lyme is nothing to mess around with. Use the best bug repellant you can find on yourself and your animals, but don't beat yourself up if the worst happens and you or they get bit. Not every tick or mosquito is infected.
