Congratulations to Cindy Reed of True Haus Kennel and her GERMAN SHEPHERD, Tom vom Haus Pixner!   Not only did the team achieve High in Obedience on Sunday, they also went away as the Regional PSA1 Champions at the West Coast Regional Show in Oroville, CA this past weekend.    Saturday they scored a 195.5 in Protection and an 88 in Obedience.  Sunday’s score in Protection was 191.5 and an 84.5 in Obedience.  As the ONLY German Shepherd team on Sunday competing with primarily Malinois,  it was a sweet victory for us German Shepherd fans.      Nice job to the both of you!  Woo Hoo!

What a dog,  I see he has also competed in the WUSV and is gorgeous to boot.  Now THAT'S what I call a "Golden Middle" dog, one who is excellent in sport & conformation!!!   Here is his website:

Tommy is a super nice dog. I hope with age, Baden developes into 1/2 the dog he is. In a club full of Bulldog people, it was nice to have such a great GSD to remind everyone, that the GSD is not a dying breed, take a little "hairy" heat off of me, and give me hope for the future. Guess who all own pointed eared dogs now? LOL Great job Tommy and Cindy.  Not only is Tommy a nice dog to look at and watch work, he throws nice pups too.

Cindy, if you ever wanna part with that little monster you brought last week, I'll claim him!

This is not only a win for German Shepherd lovers everywhere ... It goes to show that you can be an excellent trainer and have a good heart. Cindy has mentored many over the years, sharing her love for the breed and helping them to promote their capabilities to shine with their dogs. Her endless "telling us over and over again" makes her an champion of both the breed and trainers everywhere. I can only hope you have half the abilities of this fine lady if you add the words trainer to your name. Congrats Cindy!!!!

~~~~ one who is learning from the best !!!!!
Excellent! Well done to all concerned. A truly talented dog.
I'd be interested to hear from the handler who has competed at top level in both schutzhund and PSA, what the highs and lows of competing in each brought. We don't have PSA here in Britain, from what i hear, we are really missing out!
I agree with you Kim  .  Cindy and Jim are California's best kept secret!  I know for a fact that they are caring and supportive and give a lot of their time and energy to help insure the success of their students  - and it's not about the winning.  Cindy has spent countless hours mentoring me, even though I live 1/2 a State away!.  She is always there for support and advice when I have training questions and issues, and I feel very fortunate that I came across their kennel when searching for my puppy.  Although I have been unable to make the trip to spend time to train with her, she has been a wealth of information and direction thru email, dvd's and phone calls.
I know how devoted she is to the German Shepherd Dog, and of the time her and Jim both spend with their dogs as well as clients.  But I think the thing I like the best about Cindy is that she is all about having fun with the dogs on the road to what ever goal she is pursuing - be it Schutzhund, PSA or AKC.
Hard to believe I've only met her once and that she has had such a major impact on my training with my Tommy son.  So - I can honestly say, any accomplishments she has are just as thrilling for me -
So, that being said -  Congratulations again!  (smiles)
 Tommy and Cindy
I did what 4pack did and snagged this one off the PSA board too :-)
Thank you everyone. I have been around PSA only a short time, and this was only the third trial I have attended. The first one to watch and the last two to compete. For me the quality of training and handling at this trial was very impressive. I have found PSA to be a thinking sport and the handler must be weighing the points at all times. Even the very best trained dog can lose if the handler makes a wrong choice on the trial field. With that said I would like to give credit to the decoys that have been catching Tommy all of this time to get us ready. It isn't much fun to have that big dog slamming in and ripping your arm. I know you guys took a lot of bruises to get us here. So thank all of you very much it has been fun (well for me anyway) special thanks to Lucillano, Leilani, Danny, Garrett, Felipe, Clark and Anthony. Also to all of the people that helped at the trial on Saturday and Sunday. A big Thank You. No sport can survive with out a lot of people working very hard. A special thanks to the judge Greg Williams and the stewards Jose and OJ and the trial decoys for a very well run trial. Cindy Reed & Tom vom Haus Pixner "Tommy"
