Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a vet in the New England (Massachusetts area) that can
do ofa x-rays on the dog without putting them completely under, I know of one in Rhode Island, but
there has got to be one alittle closer in my area.........

                Thanks!

I KNEW I had seen a list somewhere!  I have no idea if this list is up-to-date and I can vouch for several that I have used,  a couple for anesthesia free xrays as well as a couple that are plain outstanding in other areas too.    I see there are a couple vets listed in Mass, but I don't know them (not my state):

Yes, you can find places that just give a shot to relax them.

I found one in Michigan at Michigan State University.

And the SV accepted the results there.

good luck.

Is there a reason to do it this way?

Any anesthesia carries a risk of injury or death. Ever had surgery yourself? You have to sign a waiver saying if they kill you, you won't sue. It doesn't hold up in court, of course, but they make darn sure you know.  Sedation is different and doesn't involve total unconsciousness so it's less risky. That's why people want dogs sedated and relaxed, but not anesthetized. It's less dangerous that way.
