Help needed, any advice greatly appreciated - Page 1

Hi, I am new here.

Few years back, I imported and sold a GSD puppy a year ago. I got her paper work but the local club is refusuing to register her without giving a proper reason and now the owner is calling and harassing me. I offered to refund the money provided that he give her back to me, but still no reply from him on this matter. I think he wants the dog and the refund.

Please advice me

Where did you import the pup from and is there an FCI Pedigree?

I would contact the club direct, and ask them for definate reasons.  You may find their reasons have nothing to do with the dog.  If it does then you have the word direct and know exactly what the issues are.

Most people get attached to there dogs. That might be the reason he does not want to give her back.(You did say years back). You said you have her paper work and the local club will not  register the dog. What club are you talking about the AKC or another Kennel club?The person might have to send the paper work back over seas to reg in his name or if the dog is in your name you might have to reg it first and then reg it back to him. There also some kennel clubs that do not except paper work from other kennels clubs as there not recognized. If this is the case you should have done more home work before importing a pup and the should give him  a refund back. You should call  or write that kennel club first and see what the problem might be. Or the breeder you got the pup from might be able to help you in this matter.

I have heard about this story too, from what I understand is that the paper work is in order (FCI) but the kennel club does not like the importer because he is an official of a smaller club. All the originals had been sent to the club at request and not returned but they refuse to register without reason, maybe because of the rivalry.

Its crappy that some people are worse bitch's than dog bitches

If its personal bias that is preventing a club registering a dog then no refund is necessary, the purchaser should just find another club!
