The plane carrying the Belgian team with Dogs and Handlers left Schipol airport in Holland around two hours ago. Hope they have a good flight and a good result, and that all the teams arrive saftly in the USA
The Flight for our team is round a nine hour non stop one so that is great,
But thinking of the Home USA team i would guess some of them would have a fair bit of travelling to do to reach the venue
Whatever the outcome is i am sure the organisers will put up a fantastic show and hope the weather is kind.
An event to be organised on this scale deserves to be a great one and i am sure it will be, may the best team win

Steve, I'm sure USA is already there.
Good luck to the Belgian team.
Does anyone know if the Germans are good this year?

Steve,
Everything has been taken care of, right down to giving Customs a list of all dogs and handlers coming in, so they can avoid hassles.
The hotel is VERY dog-friendly--there have even been dog shows held and/or headquartered there. The weather is supposed to be in the high 60s /low 70s through Friday. NO rain.
The schutzhund gods are smiling on the event....

This will be my first attendance a major event and I'm REALLY looking forward to it! The Quality Inn hotel is just 2 blocks away and still has a few rooms open if anyone is interested.
Good luck to all competitors!

It would have been great, but the budget does not allow me to go,
not only the cost of the flight and hotel i did work out the total cost with a little spending money and it came to around 3000 euros, whatever that is in USA dollars. so out of the question
Hope your foot soon gets better, and good luck to the Dogs from the great Zidane
His son Darthez from Belgium as i said on another thread a week or so ago, and i watched him doing his final training session at our Club, He worked very well and is the Number 1 selection for the Belgian team, He is an imposing looking Dog but very level headed whist having a terrific drive
All being okay on the day he should go well, but as we have seen so often small mistakes on this calibiere of competition with be very costly in the points department, But everyone has the same chance so good luck to all

I heard this Darthez is a dog like Zidane so hard but clear to be so hard which is rare...it should be a good showing. The dog from my kennel that is going is a alternate and may never show depending but he is a very good dog as well but not from Zidane a earlier dog before Zidane came. 3000 euro is a lot of money over here as you watch the news our dollar is shrinking I used to buy dogs almost dollar per dollar and now impossible to import as the euro is worth more than our dollar now.
