I have done both force-feeding fish oil capsules and tearing them apart and putting it on food. I still cannot be certain if my GSD likes or dislikes fishy taste of fish oil, or indifferent to it. What is your opinion?
I prefer to add molecularly distrilled fish oil over the fish oil of unknown origin already in some dog food.

I give the gels to mine. They gobble them up with their food

Mine don't like it at all, but if I can hide the gel caps in their food they do eat them unknowingly.

I give mine the gel caps and they love them. Eat them, like treats.

The girls will eat their gel caps (and any other pill) with their food no problem. Abe can find any pill and work around it no matter how well hidden. When I give him fish oil, I use the liquid salmon oil and he eats that fine.

I use Salmon Oil, my dog loooooooooves it!
Edited to add that I buy it buy pharmecuetical grade, by the gallon, store it in the fridge, & pump it on, not gel caps.

I know somebody that uses the extra virgin olive oil. Maybe your dog would like that better? She's had wonderful results, though she also feeds an ultra quality raw diet too.

I feed the gell caps too. Mine come running when they hear me shake the bottle. They absolutely LOVE them!

I have used both and prefer the oil method. For 1 the dogs try to dodge eating the gel pill thinking it's medication. 2 I can smell the fish more on their breath and body feeding it that way for whatever reason. The dogs eat the food with the oil drizzled on with no problems.
