I have an adult female who has begun pacing in the ring. Experienced handlers have tried to lift her out of it but she will fall back in.    Any suggestions how to fix this??

try really working the dog before hand  anhour long walk lower protien in the food .give a real work out before the ring ,i think lowering the protien in her food could make a differance.

Almost the best W. German dogs have always paced at lower speeds and then shifted to a gait.  A short backed GSD will do this automatically and it is very efficient at lower speeds.  They will smoothly shift to a gait (flying trot) when they increase their speed. Post a good photo here of her from the side and I'll comment on it or PM it to me if you don't want to post it.
