I saw the ad on the tv for this the other day, noticed they had German, and I was wondering if anyone has tried, or heard if it worked or not.

I know very little German, enough to roughly read the SV's website, but I want to become fluent, and as much as I'd like to take a few year trip to Europe, I want to at least learn over here.

I guess I'm asking if anyone has tried this, or used another program with great success??? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi many of my friends have used it. Depends on your ability to stick with it. Go to Germany and most speak english. Good luck its worth a try. Best regards

I learned German with Rosetta Stone.  It is an Excellent way to start learning a language.  If you stick with it, it gives you a big vocabulary to work with.  It also teaches you not to translate word for word.  You also have the chance to learn very good pronunciation and an accent because there is so much listening to native speakers.

After a while, though, you need to supplement it with something else.  Rosetta Stone is sort of weak in areas of Grammar and also conversational German that you'd use, for instance, when you're traveling.

Many of the terms used in GSD breed surveys are specialized.  It won't help you with those.

Thanks all, I was really wondering if it actually worked!

As far as wanting to learn German, I do hope to live in Germany someday, and I think it'd be a big help if I had some of it under my belt before I move there. It would also be useful if I decided that I wanted to import a dog one day, instead of just buying from the states here.

Thanks again!
