Stupid Comments From People are ..... - Page 1

In the assistance dog world, we often get some really stupid comments....here are few, along with the responses....

"Is that a blind dog?"

"No, she can see just fine"

"You don't look disabled"

"You don't look stupid either, but obviously looks are very deceiving."

"If you get up off your fat ass you wouldn't need that dog"(Mind you, I am a size 12)

(BTW< I was too speechless to respond, but a little old lady, about 4'5" slapped the old bastard in the face and said "SHE's Not Fat, Your an Asshole")(kid you not, it was publix in Lighthouse Point Florida.....)

Screaming at me in a store "YOU CAN"T BRING THAT DOG IN HERE."  As they chase me down the isles.  I ignore...."She must be deaf".  Manager comes up behind me "Maam?"  "Maam?" (I continue to ignore.)

He steps in front of me, and very loudly and slowly "ARE YOU DEAF?"

"No, I just choose to ignore stupid people", I state in a normal voice)

(BTW, dog was vested, and I was using my wheelchair)

"Yup, I had me a dog just like that once"(Said in a rednecked voice when I was out with my Beauceron)

"Really, and what were your bloodlines?  Who was your breeder?"(I knew full well they had never had a Beauceron, let alone having ever seen one)

Woman sits on the floor in the restaurant and starts playing with my dogs.  When asked to stop, she says "I used to train service dogs"

My response:  "Well, then you should damn well know better than to touch a service dog while it is in harness/cape."

"Well, it needs to be socialized."

"Not by someone as idiotic as you."

Needless to say, I have little patience some days with stupid people.

The phrase comes to mind " Do stupid people know they are stupid "

One of my favorite lines to come back with is:

"Are you naturally this stupid, or do you take lessons?"

"...you should damn well know better than to touch a service dog while it is in harness/cape."

Gawd... I thought it was bad enough when people came up and started manhandling our pet dogs without permission. But a dog in working garb... and from someone who claims to have worked with serive dogs before? Yep, that's a whole new kind of stupid.

It PISSES me off when people pet service dogs, especially when there is a huge patch that says DO NOT PET!!!!  My aunt has a service dog and I cannot tell you how many people have approached or questioned her.  One time she got her hand all twisted up because she had the leash wrapped around her hand and someone started petting him and he pulled away from my aunt causing her a load of unecessary pain (that issue was fixed soon after that).  On top of having a service dog, my aunt practically needs a body guard to keep people away.  Ignorance.....
