He is out of Echo Vom Rabauks and by Kinte Von Den Wannaer Hohen. He is dirty! lol Thank you for the compliments!!!

Very eye pleasing. Give him a chance to mature and start doing a fair amount of gaiting on lead with him, which will help flatten his croup (its a touch steep now, typical for GSDs not fully mature). The only way he will like being photographed when you tell him to stay standing, is after you have done it hundreds of times. Otherwise find two others to help. Have someone hold his lead. Then another snap the pictures while you dangle his favorite meat treat in front of him by 4-6 feet. Or keep a rag from cleaning up a bitch in season frozen in a glass jar in your freezer until you take his photo and substitute it for the meat treat. You will be surprised at how motivated he gets.

you might try "natural" stacking... when you walk him into it, then stand in front and tease/bait him. put him in a stand stay but don't worry about the exact position of his feet... then have him stay... and toss him lil goodies... liver, cheese, baby hot dogs... anything.. just get him happy. Once he stops seeing this as some horrible form of torture you can use the lead to move his feet slightly to take a step and stand more properly in the front. Then again play with him get him happy... then move the back feet into position and do the same.
I know that when getting a dog to "stack" it's frustrating as all gitout... and we don't always give off the best vibes. So if you're getting tense STOP!! change to a game of catch for a bit, then go back.
He's thin, but he's a kid... better thin than fat at that stage. He's also in that leggy stage, but should fill out over the next year or so. Nice looking dog... just be patient and make all phases of his training fun.

I agree that he's thin...He is the hardest keeper I've ever owned. I mean HARD to keep weight on. He is 14 months old!!!
Thanks for all the compliments and advice. I'm gonna try the "natrural" stacking! Also, I'll try and post a video of him gaiting...well, as best as I can get him to gait. lol
All training is FUN for us. He is my Schutzhund dog and doing quite well at it! We are starting PP training soon BUT I want to try and get a show title on him for fun.
I've always thought of him as the ugly duckling......lol Glad to know that other people think he looks good!

For fun "non-threatning" conformation fun consider looking at IABCA http://www.iabca.com/
They alow some funky breeds & from what experinced show folks have told me the show is ran in a very European style.
I entered my working line bitch last spring (we kicked butt - BIS puppy) and I'll enter again in Nov.
Schutzhund is our primary focus but I'll continue to enter her in conformation as long as we are having fun & it does not conflict with our primary training goals.
Versatility, that's what we love about our GSD's right : ) First and foremost I love a hard working dog but one that is nice to look at makes it that much better IMO
