Can anyone share with me what you have been paying for OFA's to be done?

by Kandi on 26 September 2008 - 00:09

TOO MUCH!!

At Tufts university I think it runs about $350. I can have them done at a local vet for about $100 cheaper...but not always clear straight xrays. I will pay almost anything to not have the headache of seeing poor quality xrays....after my dog has already woken up.

On OFA's web site, they do list clinics where sometimes they can be done much cheaper...I recently contacted a breed club near me that hosts them every once in awhile and asked them to put me on thier mailing list.

Hello Uber Land, I normally pay $200 dollars for the xray, and then $25 dollars for OFA. I always go with digital xrays that are transmitted immediately via email to the OFA from the vets office. Fast turn around.  I've never had to sedate. The really good vets know how to get a really good film without the xtra added cost of sedation. I've always had really good results this way. Hope this helps, Von Leistung GSD's

Wow!  I get mine done for $135 then pay the OFA fee on top of that.  Elbows are $50 extra if done at the same time.  My vet can also submit digitally and I get a CD with the radiograph loaded onto it!

ok, now who is in North Texas?  I know of Dr. Krug in Dallas, but think he is a little pricey.  I've used Dr. Taylor near Rockwall before, but have been hearing mixed opinions on him here lately.  I think I have spent $200-$250 just for x-rays

Kandi,& everybody,

I know what you're saying>>>do you think these are a bad x-ray?, This cost  $323.00 for micro-chip, hips & elbows,
and pre-screening blood work.

These are prelimbs at 12 months, what do you  think......................

I tried to scan them but they came out too dark, so I held (taped) them up to a sky light, (No trees in the background)
and I can see them better,

Haven't mailed them in yet, what do you guys think......Thanks>>>
