Burlington, Vt. - This morning, PETA dispatched a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of ice cream icon Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace the cow's milk in their products with human breast milk. PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow's milk in the food he serves. PETA points out to Cohen and Greenfield that such a move on their part would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health at the same time.

"The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn't make sense," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "Everyone knows that 'the breast is best,' so Ben & Jerry's could do consumers and cows a big favor by making the switch to breast milk."

I'm sorry but that just shows how nutty they really are. How many woman produce enough breast milk that they have extra to sell? Not enough for my icecream consumption alone! Not to mention that just grosses me out.

What will happen is the women will sell there breast milk to make ice cream and feed there babies on Cows Milk

What on earth is this world coming too

I pity the babies today and i wonder what horrors they are going to live though in the future generations, that is if the human race survives that long

i have a better idea............  if PETA wants to do something that is actually worthwhile for a change:

let them volunteer to collect the breastmilk and ship it to china for those poor babies that are sick and dying from the melamine that seems to be acceptable in their country.  first it was our dogs and now their babies.  what a shame.  all for the sake of $$$$.  a cheap way to make something appear to be higher in protein.

yeah, let PETA do something worthwhile for a change.  maybe they could be kept busy enough with that project that they wouldn't have time or energy enough to come up with more of their hare-brained notions.

Only problem with PETAs suggestion is think of how many women will be sat around doing nothing but drinking tea or coffee full of cows milk whilst they wait for the next "milking".

When I had my kids I could easily have a fed a couple of extra's on the side but this just takes the mickey totally.
