I am new to the area looking for help, suggestions, the good, the bad, the ugly on the clubs in the Denver Metro area.  Please include experiences with the members and training directors.

Best bet is to go to USA website and look up each club, visit them and assess for yourself.  Not a good a idea to request potentially inflammatory responses from a message board - may not be accurate and based on  personalities, politics and individual situations

My intent is not to gather inflammatory remarks from this board my plan is to visit each and every one, however, there might be some information from some honest people might offer I can carry into my visits.  I understand items have to be taken into contex when reading them from a blog.

Go to www.dvgamerica.org

and www.germanshepherddog.com fpr clubs in the Denver/Front Range area. I don't know of any on the Western Slope.....

There are quite a few to visit and form your own opinion on. I recommend starting with Summit (DVG) and Front Range (USA) if you live in or near Denver.....

Nice selection in the Denver area. I'd try High Plains for sure. Good luck!

Are you the same GSDRookie who lived in Oregon? :-) You will need to follow through on your plan to visit several clubs. But, keep in mind what your interests and training style are. High Plains has good people and excellent training. High Plains is a serious training club. Not "cookie trainers." :-) If you are from Oregon, you might want to really take some time for you and your dog to acclimate to the altitude. Going from sea-level to Mile High can make you sick, literally.

No sorry not from Oregan, I will visit the clubs, and I appreciate the websites, which I can visit also, I guess what I am looking for are more personal experiences

we have trained with mark and ann marie (high plains schutzhund club) several times.   ann marie has judged a couple of our trials and mark did a helper certification for our club.  we have had them for training seminars and been to their club for training and shows.  we are having them for a weekend training session the end of oct. as a matter of fact.

i dont know a lot about the other clubs in that area, but if i lived their that is who i would train with.

Anyone trained with the culbs in Colorado Springs or Denver Mile High?

by Spencer on 27 September 2008 - 04:09

I would recomend summit or front range. Both clubs have good people. Front range is a USA club and Summit is a DVG club. I must warn you we are "cookie" trainers. What a dumb fucking comment.........
