hi,

how many times a week , and for how long, will I have to train my dog to score at least 97 in tracking?

depends on:---

1) The dog, his genetics. What has happened with him/her before. What is happening with him/her now.

2) The fields on which dog is trained.

3) The club. Whether the club is near large fields, small fields.

4) The weather of the region, If it is very windy or a still area.

5) The grass on the field

6) The handler How experienced he is. How much knowledge he has. The patience levels

these are just some factors add more to your heart's delight...

Well, I don't know, I've heard there is a guaranteed 96 and a 98 formula but never heard of the 97 formula.

There are no guarantee's................ Time has nothing to do with it.

I think it is the wrong thing to ask.

Ask how do I go about training my dog to track, after you look at your dog and ask can he do this?
