This is my first taste of a regional competition and so far the experience has been fantastic. The host club (Mid-Atlantic Schutzhund Club) has chosen a fantastic venue. I have never seen a high level competition where a competitor can pull their dog out of their air-conditioned hotel room on the ground level... (yes all rooms are 1st floor rooms)... and walk 125 feet !!! to report into the judge at the trial field.
And the trial field is golf-fairway quality grass of full regulation size and next to it is a separate fully equipped practice field of equal size and quality that is open all the time.
Unofficially speaking, todays high score in tracking was taken by Carlos Rojas with 96 and the high score in Obedience so far goes to Ron Harris with 93 while Rick Burgos has the current high in protection with 94.
The judging has been sharp but fair and consistent.
I will leave it to the host club to put up the official scores on the web
