She's probably getting ready to blow her coat. The new one should be better.
I like Taste of the Wild food for good coats.

Food plays an important part in the coat, has her food changed? If not then she may be getting ready to blow her coat. There are 2 really good supplements that make a big difference in the dog's coat, Vertex and Energol. I have used Vertex for several years and love it. It also helps with shedding.

Make sure you are feeding her a good quality food, first. That can make all the difference in the world for coat and overall health. I like to add raw eggs - one per day or at least several per week, raw eggs really are good for overall health and coat/skin in particular.

A can of Mackerel once a week would help as well.

Salmon oil, cod liver oil, oily fish, eggs, I use all these supplements during the week
A top quality diet, and i swear by bio-groom products esp mink oil.
Also don't bathe her too often as you will wash the natural oils out of her coat

As well as all the above suggestions on diet, make sure she is parasite free, both inside and out.

Food plays a major role, but age and dull coat indicates that she is close to her heat.
Also oily food may help the coat but if it bugs you try slighly applying baby oil into the fur and then towelling her to remove the excess oil.

I used to feed Canidae and thought their coats were great but since I switched to Taste of the Wild their coats are fabulously shiny. I also supplement with salmon oil. Another trick for some added shine is rub a couple drops of silicone between your palms and rub it over their coats.
