It is called Pano My 11 month old male has it been in care of the vet for 3 month now Vet says it will go away once he is about 13 month old, the only thing what can be done is to give him Dog Aspirin I was told , we had him on Previcox but it did not help the pain. Also My Vet told me to put him on Adult food it has less protain. Very little excercise.

You have a good vet

Be sure he is on an adult food without too much protien. Also a joint suppliment with glucosomine msm and chondroiten such as "joint strong" from animal naturals.

A little pain is good thing for a pup with pano. That way he won't overdo it and cause more damage. Aspirin or ascriptin (aspirin buffered with mallox) is all that is generally needed in addition to forced rest and an adult food. Don't be too surprised if it comes back now and then and if different legs are affected.

Blitzen How long due they usualy have that ? I never had a gsd with Pano, my boy is 11 month old and weigh 85 pounds he is an import. He started to limp when he was 8 month old.

I've seen a few dogs with pano on and off until they were 2 years old or older. Xrays don't usually show too much, the disease is diagnosed symptomatically and some dogs will elict pain if the long bone is held in 2 hands and "bent".  However, if it continues too much longer, I'd probably think about having the vet take another look since lameness can be the result of some other issues. Does it shift from one leg to the other? A shifting lameness is a good indication that it's pano. Your dog is large for his age, is at the right age, and the right sex  to suspect pano.
