I can't believe I actually GOT AWAY with sneaking out on a Friday to see a live concert. I took T for moral support. This is a very OLD friend of mine I hadn't seen since many of you were still a twinkle in your Daddy's eye. I was SHOCKED when he actually recognized me. I had actually printed out a photo of myself with a guitar he'd given me on my 20th birthday to jog his memory. He didn't need the photo. Very nice few hours, walking down Memory Lane. I wonder how many of you can guess who it is?
This is the pic I took along for ID purposes. Sure wish I still had that 1952 000-28 Martin. He told me its worth about $40K these days. It is a very small guitar, but I was a very small woman. Its also the guitar used to record a tune I know was written for me in 1972 called "Water Song" at Wally Heider Studio in SF. (That's a BIG hint!)
Have fun trying to guess about my misspent youth!

OMG Shelley---Cool pix! I never let anyone document my wild & crazy youth...Hell, I can't remember too much of it, must have been fun.....! These days --there's NOTHING I do that doesn't involve dogs in some way...we even have therapy dogs where I work, (a rottie)...which is what I do, mostly--work, work, work, work, work. And I come home & cry on Carl's shoulder, or bury my face in my dogs' fur, get wet kisses to wash away my tears......last night was the hardest night I have ever spent on the job...cried all night. Thank goodness for the dogs. jackie harris

Shelley, is there a pattern here? I know you have mentioned that you enjoy a Tuna on hard crust bread. Now I see the band "HOTTUNA" By any chance is your favorite NFL Coach Bill Parcells?

Put up a new fence on he side of my yard, the old one blew down in early spring. We propped the old one up (snapped posts and all) all summer but it had to be replaced before the rains started again. Went to training last night, oops dog related, bought dog food yesterday, oops dog related, shopping for a new crate and checking vets for health cert prices, oops dog related. To tell ya the truth, my whole motivation for the fence was dog related too, while it was down my pup couldn't be lose in the backyard, that sucked and I was in a bigger hurry than my boyfriend to get the job done. Imagine that, a woman more motivated than a man?!? Sorry boys but ya all are horrible at putting off till next week, what you can climb your ass off the couch and do right Fing NOW! Put down the Xbox controles and the satalite remote. LOL

I'm so sorry you had another miserable night at the hospital Jackie. You work entirely too hard. I am horrified when I think of my next getaway, just decided today (Crosby-Nash, Reading, PA) Maybe you should go with me! If I can get to the bus before the show (and I'm pretty sure I can, there's ALWAYS an afternoon sound check ;) we'll have the best seats in the house. It would be good for you!
Of course if I get caught none of you will ever hear from me again. I'll be pushing up daisies somewhere in the fur reaches of Carbon County. Remind me to update my will before Oct. 5. :-O Don't know what's gotten into me lately. I've got this THING about renewing old OLD aquaintances. I hope its not some kind of sign I need to hurry up and say good-bye or something!

I've been preparing to move. I made a nod to my advancing age, AND the distance I'll be moving (three hours north of where I am now) and hired a mover, but I'm still trying to do as much packing as I can myself. And the sorting and pitching is still going on, too! Got rid of 5 boxes of books, 2 large bags of outdated clothing. STill have the basement to do: my late hubby owned a sixplex apartment, and he had every tool known to man, plus all the nails and other stuff he needed to keep the building ship-shape. I spent last night sorting paint cans. After it took me nearly 10 minutes to pry the lid off one, I decided it wasn't worth the effort, and shook the can to see if it was any good. If it sloshed, fine. If it didn't, or if it was rusty, it got tossed. Now, Ihave to take the rejects to the hazardous waste depot...
D-Day is Monday. Y'all might want to pray for me that things go smoothly. I'm having nightmares over how I'm going to fit two GSD's and all the stuff the movers won't move (gas cans, lawnmower, paint, cleaning stuff ) into my SUV. Some will go in my tent trailer, but needless to say, I don't want to risk putting gasoline in there, and with the price of gas these days, I'm not about to take it to the waste depot and dump it!
I'm guessing I'll have to make more than one trip. Nope, not happy about that. At least now I am going to have a room mate who likes dogs. I just hope her little 10 lb mutt isn't going to get eaten for lunch by my two!

All my favorite football coaches are either dead or retired. No connection about the tuna thing, but kind of a coincidnece that Hot Tuna's prublishing company was called "FishOBaby" Productions. As in "What's that smells like fish, Oh Baby... Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, when are ya gonna let the damned thing RUST?"
Think about it. ROTFLMAO.
