Mr. President
I have never myself tried this fish for the dogs but will now.

tom lonsdale's book - raw meaty bones - recommends whole fish (so not just cuts but the entire carcass) as an excellent addition to a dog's diet. as long as it is for human consumption there shouldn't be a problem and freezing for a few weeks can help if you are concerned about worms. but he cautions against relying on just one type of fish because relying on any one source of meat will in all likelihood create an imbalance.

I go to the docks and get fish occassionally....Fish that is edible for humans, but I don't eat it(I don't like fishy tasting fish).
I will also spear fish for my dogs....I can't, however, bring myself to give my dogs the whole fish---I filet it out for them, not as neatly as I would for myself, but they only get the meat.
I shoot porgies, grunts, lane snapper, etc....for the the dogs, hogfish, grouper, cobia, flounder and trigger fish belong to me....

I have never heard of hake fish???? Is it canned? Where do you buy it? I buy canned samon for my guys to feed every once in a while and keep some on hand in case a storm kills my electric and my frozen chicken & hamburger defrosts & spoils before I can use it. I need to eat more fish myself, it's good for you.
