I'd be interested in learning more about Eastern European bloodlines too. There's a big hole in my personal database where knowledge of that subject ought to be. ;-)

I have never heard nothing but good things about Titus. I also would like to know more about him and these other dogs. Plus Gent...Grim....Faro...and Orry.

Good Points (general): great work ethics, great nose for tracking, great physical stamina (due to the fact that they are not 100 pound couch potatoes), bone crushing bites (Titus actually crushed his stainless steel food bowls as a way of playing), Stable nerves/Social (have yet to meet one that is not stable or is antisocial) . Very versatile.
I have never (in 15 years) heard anything but great things about these dogs as well as others (lots of greats out there right now) and their progeny....I'm sure this will change as the Czech dog becomes more popular and unscrupulous breeders (have already heard of a few) get their scummy hands on them.
I feel that these dogs represent what true working shepherds should incompass...functionality and intelligence.

There isn't a bad dog in the bunch. Titus and Car z Kc CS produced what some call the magic cross. This is what produced Norbo Ben Ju, (6x WUSV, finishing in top third each time) arguably one of the greatest GSD's of all time. Bero is from old DDR bloodlines, not Czech. I agree with the above statement about the dogs' temperament. They all, from what I have seen and heard, produce oustanding working dogs with crushing bites, not crazy, and strong nerves. Very stable dogs.

My dog "Magnus Jipo-Me" is fortunate enough to have most of those dogs in his pedigree as well as Norbo ben-Ju. All of those dogs on that list are top notch and produced very real dogs that are mostly stable and suitable for more than sport. It all depends on the breeding.
After having started in Czech lines, I dont think I ever see myself crossing over to anything else as I love the temperment and the definite on and off switch super drive that most of these dogs have. Here is my boys pedigree and I am happy with every aspect of him in the work, super grips and loves to work and please me. The color and bone structure does it for me as well, gorgeous dogs in addition to the great working drives.

Art,
your male is just beautiful!
I too LOVE the czech blood. I have a female who loves to work, be it herding, ppd, ob, no matter what I ask of her, she is always wiling.
full hard grips, balanced drives, strong work eithics, great on and off switch. stamina up the wazoo. very gentle around children and elderly. very confident.
Im fairly new to shepherds and enjoy learning about the dogs in her pedigree. I have read that her grandsire, Zar od Policie and gr grandsire Marko ze Zlataku, both good working dogs, passed these traits on to their offspring.
I would love to find out more about the dogs behind her. Any one that can point me in the right direction, its greatly appreciated.
here is her ped. please excuse the poor stack. I need to get a better pic of her up online. www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/543720.html

This is my Czech girl http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/561866.html, she has Car in her background on the bottom and the zPS kennels on her top line.
I'm pretty much going to be repeating what everyone else has said but it can't be said too much I think! She's a wonderful dog, a complete workaholic on the field, quick as a whip in picking up any work I introduce her to. She's got a very deep, solid nose in tracking, her obedience is wonderful because she always looks like she just wants to be out there dancing along and her protection is strong, drivey but still clear headed.
She's got an amazing on/off switch, is great with children -thinks small toes are the best lick toys in the world- gentles herself around the elderly and sick yet can switch it on and be a complete spitfire on the field.
Nothing phases her environmentally either, we can toss her in the car and go for 7 hours and she pops out fresh and ready to work or check out the world around her without so much as turning a hair and physically she's been sound as a bell requiring only regular vet check ups.
Body, mind and spirit she's been bred to be sound as a bell and she is.

Really more interested in ANY faults in these dogs....
Also...we seem to know more about the studs than the females in our pedigrees - Why is this?
Does someone have information on female lines or a suggestion on where to find the information other than just doing Google searches???

Because in the dog world, dog is the producers, female is like empty can that just drops pups :) lol. I know what you mean. Can someone explain to me why is that its male that always gets the credit for all the good things, as well as gets the faults for all the bad things? Last time I check its a 50% chance, genes get split in the middle and who gets what depends on the gene pool which combines males and females genes. Thanks guys.
