I have been feeding RAW for about two months now and the change in my 7 Shepherds is undescribable.  I will not go back to kibble.  I live in a rural area, so when a friend of mine had a small calf go down he offered me the meat.  I thought heck yeah...  organs, muscle meat, bones.  The lord is good.

My hubby said "cant be much different then doing a deer" which might I add, he has never done before.....   Can you see where I am going with this?

I ended up with a 400 pound calf in my back yard with my hubby playing butcher!!  Oh my gosh THE SMELL!!  What is the TRIPE and where do I find it in the cow??   LOL

Three hours later and repulsively smelling like I dont know what, I have a freezer full of beef.  If I had pictures Id share just for the laugh...

I just kept saying the dogs are worth it...  while I watched my husband gag a few times!!  LOL

Keep up the good work!! Your dogs will luv you forever for your time and effort. We feed raw also and I have become best friends with every butcher in our area and am rewarded with tons of reduced price meat, alot of tripe, beef tongue, hearts, all the icky things. It's hilarious to watch the checker and the people behind me in line trying to figure out what some of the stuff is and giving me weird looks for buying the stuff. Oh the things we do for our shepherds......

Shannan - Tripe is the stomach.  This page will help greentripe.com

I also agree - I will never go back to kibble.  All dogs coming into my house will be fed raw - including fosters.
