I am quite new and I do not wish to be attacked, advise would be apprciated.

As you are aware, my GSD girl is a litlle small for her age and she had some bad eating habit which was sorted out thanks to this site. She still is slim, a breeder suggested that I give brands essence of chicken because:

1) improves metabolism

2) chicken flavor thus encourage good eating

3) well known health supplement.

She also siad that I need to give 1 bottle a day and at once because it cannot be kept open.

is this a good idea?

It's a brilliant invalid food for sick dogs and puppies, but not sure whether it would give weight gain.  It may be difficult to get hold of, chemists don't seem to stock it any more.  Wouldn't do any harm though, so worth a try.

Yes yes, it sure is good convalescing food, not just for pets, but for humans as well.

My neighbour feeds it to her cats (claims to be her family's 2-generation belief) as a supplement (their cats look absolutely gorgeous and hale) and i was sold.  Have been feeding my GSD a few bottles a month for the last 2 years.  Sometimes, i steal a few sips too.

For convenience sake, I usually get my supply from www.brandsessence.co.uk. Delivery is free!!!
