Where is the breeder?

If the breeder is in the states, why haven't they stepped forward and taken their dog back?

Just curious....

oh it makes me sad to think of her stuck in that rescue:(

she is such a nice looking girl, lets hope she gets the forever home she deserves,

I am not sure I'd call a dog with a BH a "titled" dog in this context.  It's not hard to pass the BH, though perhaps I should tease my husband about that a lot more than I already do.

Poor girl! Let's hope she gets adopted soon!

BTW, there's some really cute stuff on their website if you go here: http://www.shepherdrescue.org/pages/GoodShepherd.html

I really enjoyed reading "Dog's Letter to God" near the bottom of that page!

Good heavens a BH is not exactly exacting is it?!

any dog of any breed should be able to pass the BH with no problems.

The question should be why did she go no further?

No a BH is not a title, but it IS the prerequiste for any schutzhund title.   At age 8, though, I think it is safe to say that the training was not pursued.  The ad specifically refers to the Bh as a temperament test, so I don't think there is any attempt to mislead anyone.

She looks so sad... she also looks like she has been bred before.  THAT may be why she went no further toward an actual title.

I forwarded the link to someone I know was looking for a nice, retired GSD fm a little while ago. I hope it clicks. So sad when people turn in their aging dogs. Really brings tears to my eyes...

Ok, no, a BH is not a "title" but is is an accomplishment and shows someone at some time put the effort into doing something with the dog and hopefully at one time she was a loved companion dog. Why didn't she go further?? Who knows, maybe decided that breeding and selling the puppies was making them much more money, maybe they became disabled, maybe they fell on hard times, why does it really matter? Is the dog considered crap because she doesn't have a SchH "Title"? By my reference to another "Titled" dog referes to the dog having accomplishments. Sorry................................

A BH IS a title, and a valuable accomplishment IMO. Who knows what happened to the original owner of the dog? Maybe they died! the important thing is to find this sweetie a forever home. Why don't we put our energy towards accomplishing that end?
