Sounds like a staph infection to me. Hope it all works out for you. Maybe you should treat your yard and the dog's environment. She will be naked for a while but the coat should grow back just fine as long as there is not any un-repairable damage to the skin. If it is sunny where you live becareful so that she does not get sun burned after the shave. It grows back really fast too!

I would definately go to another vet for a second opinion.
She sound's like she is rejecting whatever the vet sprayed on her, and you don't know what it was??
It doesn't sound life threatening but I would want to know too.
I stopped using frontline this year but I don't understand why you can't get it in your area.
Press you vet for answer's then go see another vet, or at least call one with the fact's once you know what product has been used.

Is a staph infection easy to treat? So basically the vet will have to shave her whole body? No she wont get sun burnt as she is an indoor dog.

Staph in dogs is easy to treat and is not the same as staph a person gets, so don't be affraid of it, LOL. I would probably go see a different vet if it were me. Probably a course of oral antibiotics and some medicated shampoo should fix her up. I would be suprised if he really has to shave her from head to tail. To me it sounds like a reaction to whatever he sprayed on her. Let us know how it all turns out, I would be interested to know, especially if you go see a different vet.

Two moons it was a fipnoril spray. It basically had a stronger concentration of fipnoril. The vet said she wouldnt have such an adverse reaction to it! Stupid idiot! Poor girl has pus all over her back!

Find some tar oil shampoo and give her garlic.
