Hey all,

Just wanted to share something that has been eating me up for the last few days!

I got a phone call from a friend of mine asking me the following:  As a breeder if someone had 6 dogs and was 1 dog over the limit for their city's ordinance, would I send them 2 more puppies?  My answer was NO, but what was the rest of the story?

Well, the rest of the story is that a gentleman named Greg had 4 dogs.

1 older male named Oman-SchH1

1 adult female

2 young dogs

The young dogs are male (18 months) and female (6 months).  All dogs come from the same breeder.  Greg decided to get 2 puppies from the same breeder.  The 2 puppies and the 2 young dogs all have the same father, Vico.  Well, Greg calls Andy and tells Andy he needs to sell the 2 younger dogs.  Andy lives too far from Greg to come and evalutate the young dogs so Andy calls Scott.  Scott goes to look at and evaluate the 2 young dogs.  Scott says the male is nice, a good club level dog but the female needs some socialization.  Greg tells Scott that he wants $1,500 each for these dogs and they have 24 hours to get sold cause he is getting 2 new puppies.  Scott tells Greg that he can help him sell the dogs(at no charge or anything, just helping Greg out) he has lots of space in his kennel and can work with the female and get her socialized.  Greg says nope!  Gotta get $1,500 for each of them and he has a vet appointment to euth if they don't sell by the next day!  No, one can just come up with this kind of jack so fast and honestly the female isn't a bad dog but not worth the asking price, which Greg agrees!

Well, I call the breeder (our former KG-OFS)and ask him what is up with Greg killing the dogs if he doesn't sell them and him sending 2 new puppies?  Breeder says, "that is Greg's choice and what Greg does with the dogs is out of my control." and he sees nothing wrong with Greg killing the 2 young dogs just to get the 2 new puppies!  I begged and pleaded for these dogs lives!  I told breeder to have Greg drop them off at Spay Oklahoma and I would pick them up after they were spayed/neutered and I would help adopt them out.  All my trying to convince was all in vain!  WOW!  I just could not believe what I had heard!  This breeder IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!  And I have it verifyed that Greg DID kill at least the female!  I was so sad and disappointed in this breeder and former KG-OFS!  I just can't hardly believe he sent 2 puppies (same father as the 2 young dogs) to this guy knowing Greg was just going to kill the young dogs to make room for the puppies!

I will be glad to share what kennel these 2 puppies are out of if you would like to PM me and also the full name of Greg!  These 2 characters need not be involved in ANY breeding or welcomed at any schutzhund club!  There is a special place in Hell for people like this!  This IS the TRUE tragedy to Schutzhund and the breeders who work hard to better the breed!

Vickie,

I can't figure putting down a dog that's in his eye's worth $1,500.00 dollar's.

The sell by next day or they are gone forever sound's like emotional black mail to me also.

I can't help smelling fish to high heaven.   It sound's like a little bit of a con job for whatever reason.

Now come's the part you won't like, I have to be honest here.   As long as he's not abusing his animal's he has the right to do with them what he please's including putting them down.  Sorry but I just believe in the principle.

He may very well be a piece of crap,  I would walk away, your right there is a place waiting for these kind's of people.

You tried, bless you for that.

Brent.

Yep Vickie, I was the first call that Andy made that day and I was in Tulsa and offered to take both of them home with me that day after putting down 500.00, which is all that I could come up with at the moment.  Greg said that he was tired of people trying to get something for nothing... but hey he would rather have the euth bill than all of these people that wanted to save the dogs.

Andy has the sister to the male and she is nice, he said that the male would be even better, such a shame. The story gets a bit worse but at that point it is just hearsay.

I am sorry to hear about the little female too, I know that Scott really wanted to help.  I know that none of them will ever be welcome around me, for the very little that it is worth.

Heard you called the breeder, good for you!  I don't know him well enough to have made a difference with him, but he and Andy used to be close.

Moons,

I do understand that it is his choice to do with the dogs as he saw fit.  However, the breeder lacks any conviction that 2 dogs had to die inorder to sell Greg the 2 new dogs.....hmmmm, lets see.  This breeder often sells his dogs for $1,500 each so he just made $6,000 off of Greg, his very good friend!  What really gets me is that all the dogs involved have the same Sire....why, if the first 2 were not good enough that you go back to the same Sire and get 2 more?

Vickie,

I know...  none of it make's sense.   The breeder sound's like money is the more important thing to him.

I just can't see putting down that kind of dog in the first place, you'd think he would sell them first.

I try to stay away from people like this, life's to short and sometime's dealing with them will cost you in way's you wouldn't think possible.

Fool's and Idiot's.............  avoid them.

Brent.

I think this is a litter mate of the young female that was put down.  This is very sad!

I think both should be named publicly.  Not everyone will see this thread and everyone needs to know who to avoid as both a breeder and an emotional blackmailer/moneygrubber.

Not that both of those aren't money grubbers.

I'm speachless, sad and angry.  If that's the littermate....

I'm sorry Vickie but don't be protecting them with silence so they can do this again.

Amazing!  I know we live in a throw away society, but that guy takes the cake!  Weird that the breeder has no problem providing new pups considering the guy is so quick to kill the two pups he has now, unless of course, the breeder is so shady he actually sees this as an opportunity to make more dough.  I wonder if there is more going on here than what they told you?

That was my thought sue.

Sue,

Nope!  That is the honest to God truth!  The dogs were healthy and sound.  They were back yard dogs as Greg has not trained in a really long time!  He did not pay his dues to the club for 2009 either, but that is not to say that he didn't pay them some where else.....like to the club up in Nebraska where this breeder is now a member.

I will not say here on the database who this breeder is as I have been threatened by him in the past.  He threatened to sue me.  I would not use a male that he had a litter out of with my bitch Chyra.  The male was sold to another database member here and she had suggested her male and when I asked if this breeder had anything to do with the male anymore and she asked why, I told her why.  She then shared this email with the breeder and he threatened to sue me for slander or something.
