Just to let you know that we are still on despite the rain. Everyone outside the UK will no doubt have heard that we are deluged with the wettest summer in years, and its showing no let up... but - its not going to beat us... there have been too many people put too much effort, and sponsorship to let any-one down.... please still arrive, with wet weather clothes and wellies or football boots.
Tents are going up as we speak, the burger van man isnt going to let us down, and the activities will still go on. Its the first event of its kind in GSD`s and the KC have given permission for it to be a recognised Crufts J.H. event for 2009 when published, and we need recognition for our juniors in this breed...
Lin from FarDogArt has arrived by plane this morning from Scotland bless her, to take pics to hopefully go into the Seiger supplement and Nat Mag and just in case the weather is too sunny has brought her "sunny lens" (yeah right !) and just in case there is no sun around.... her underwater gear.... there will be some hard standing parking for vehicles, so dont worry too much about parking, we THINK we have everything thought of. Firsty I would like to say well done to all involved - a great effort from all and if I didn't have to work this weekend then I would have jumped in the car and headed south to show my support.
Secondly I would like to say that for the Junior Handlers this is an absolute fantastic step forward and also for the breed. I was once a Junior Handler a number of years ago and also pretty successful in what I did, there was nothing like this opportunity available. I only wish there was back then!
The breed needs new blood, new handlers and the great thing for many of the Junior's is that they, like me, have been brought up with the breed, learned to handle at an early age and will continue to grow from strenth to strenth, providing we (as a breed) recognise the need for these events and continue to encourage and support all Junior Handler's in the many years to come.
Well done, good luck for tomorrow and I look forward to seeing the photo's :-)

Thanks for that Mandy - it will be all worth the effort for every junior that comes, I assure you. I have just come back to open the cattery for 2 hrs, then off back to help out with the set up.... the agility equipment has to be seen to be believed, and we have the help of a great girl, in the field of agility and showing ....that is coming to take the helm with that.... I think the kids and even the older kids alike will be thrilled that they have got so much to take up their day, and each one are going to go home (hopefully) looking forward to the bigger and better 2009 one...... lets hope so, and anyone that wants to come over for the hell of it and take a look, just come... the more the merrier, besides which if you stand closer together you dont get so wet I`m told !! Give me a call on 07940 523249 if anyone wants to come just for a look, or to jon in the wet tee shirt photo.... No Not Me, Lins camara lens is much too valuable to break. Talking of which Lin of Fardogart is setting up its own website, so that should be exciting, we will post it on here as soon as she is back from her first German Seiger experience.i. As well as squillions of pictures, Lin is going to get to work on "Thelwell of the Dog World" sketches of as many sets as she can... watch this space for the website..... Mo -

Mo
Will you be able to raise money with the Thelwell of the dog world" sketches for GSD Welfare???
May be you can give a prize the child who slips over the most?
