One reason for bloat among the numerous is that a dog cant eat grass to offset an intinial tummy ache.

I don't get it. Why can't a dog eat grass? Mine do it all the time.

What is your source?

Interesting, dogs do eat grass, rugs, socks, to offset tummy issues.

Vet told me there is two types of grass a dog eats which we can't see or reconise, one is for nutrient the other is for medicine. When a dog is fed barf- or Raw, often people let their dogs eat as much grass as desired, twigs rabbit droppings etc, all natural food apparently. They eat these including certain grass as food, part of there diet.

Twigs? Rabbit droppings? Is this thread some kind of a joke?
I don't know any raw feeder that allows their dogs to eat either twigs (not digestible and can cause punctures and blockages) or rabbit droppings or "as much grass as desired" as part of a raw diet unless it's the partially digested legume contents from the stomach of a ruminant animal. That's preposterous. Those of us that do raw feed discourage our dogs of eating such trash and feces in order to maintain a healthy diet and a healthy dog.
Dogs will often snatch up a bit of grass here and there and eat it. It doesn't necessarily mean they have a tummy ache, are trying to relieve a tummy ache (or bloat) or anything more than they just wanted to for whatever or possibly no reason.
Where in God's name do some of you people get your information? I'm curious to see the sources of this mis-information too.

My dogs like grass but what they really like is some shrub or something that grows in my fence line and they eat it like billy goats! I am not sure what it is as it grows wild and is not something I have planted. It is a leaf off of a woody stem and they LOVE it! They never get sick after eating it so I just let them.

Do you live in the southeast?
If you do it could be Kudzu. Get rid of it while you can. LOL

Oh boy. Not sure it's the same plant.
Sorry. I thought I could be of some help.
