My sister lost her german shepherd a couple of months ago. He was sired by franko vom haus kim and the dam was cora vom haus kim. I am checking for her to see if it is possible for her to find the same bloodline in order for her to find a pup. Can anyone help me with how I would do this? I am new to this site, she does not have a computer and I would love to get some information for her. She adored this gentle giant, and is grieving herself to sickness. I have the pedigree information all the way back to his grandfather. Just have trouble sorting it all out. Any help would be more than appreciated. Thank you in advance. Carolyn

This was the breeding, and a nice one. Despite the common kennel name, the breeding was an outcross, so there is no single dog or group of dogs to go back to.
Nonetheless, one dog stands out: Marc Herculesblick. This was a great dog and there is an expert on this dog on this site: Shelley Strohl. She may be able to help you -- post her a private message, perhaps. You could do worse than to pick up a pup linebred on Marc.
The other possibility is to try to find out if siblings and/or progeny of these dogs are breeding. Check both parents for siblings and progeny on this site, and ask about those dogs individually -- make the header of your post the name of one dog each, to be sure to attract attention. Good luck.

I have a litter planned, linebred on Marc 3,5. (Portia x Carol) Can't help you with the dogs on the bottom line, but Molly and I will be breeding Gabi, who goes to Marc as well, sometime very soon. Depending on which male we breed her to, there may be some similar bloodlines in that litter. I don't have time to compare the pedigrees on potential matches for Gabi and the dog you mentioned's pedigree today.

Actually my mother went through the same thing a few years back. She had a wonderful female GSD and when she died, I started on a quest for her to find a dog that was as closely related as possible, which ultimately led me to this database.
Firstly, you're in for a good deal of research as it takes a lot of time to track specific dogs and/or lines. I suggest you break down each side's pedigree. From the parents you gave, it looks like the sire's line has more specifics. I'd Google and Yahoo specific names, see what pops up, click on links that may take you to breeder's and go from there. You can often find links to shows (if the person showed them), that will give you owner names, progeny names, etc. You can also look up the sire's siblings in this database and do the same thing. Sometimes you can find a brother or sister that was bred and pick up the line there.
I don't know how old your friend's dog was when she passed and this will also determine how easy it will be to find similar lines. My mom's dog was 12 so of course her parents' were gone and any siblings or even littermates of hers would also be older as well.
A lot also depends on if people register their dogs in database so you can track them or if they bred a littermate(s) of your friend's dog so that the line continued.
If you're interested in the bred, the search can be a really interesting one; just a long one! Don't get frustrated and if you need any help, send me a private email and I'll help the best I can.
Good Luck,

I just Googled the sire's name and found the following link:

It looks like they have a dog for sale whose dam's parents are the same two as the parent's of your friend's dog. That may give you the line as the dog has also had a few litters.
