My dog has a lump in his gums over the top front two teeth.  It has slowly gotten larger.  He shows no sign of discofort when applying pressure to it, but likes to chew things and rubs it raw at times.  Any thoughts?

Yes, you need to have it biopsied ASAP. Oral tumors are often malignant.

Maybe Canine Epulis?  Here is a link to the page in the Merk Manual.  I agree with Blitz, the best thing to do is have your vet take a look at it.  Personally, when it comes to lumps and bumps on my dog, I always prefer err on the side of caution because I have unfortunately had too much experience with canine cancers.  http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index.jsp?cfile=htm/bc/23115.htm
