I just got a call from a close friend.

I won't go into details as two counties and those law enforcement agencies might be involved in the investigation but Cadaver D-dog (a great GSD temperament and otherwise) is at the vet showing signs of either D.M. or neurological damage as the result of an attack.  The timing kind of makes me think neurological.

He has been beat around the head (very obviously) while in the backyard exercising and the bat used was found in the yard.

A few prayers could well go a long way.

This boy means as much to me as he does them.    Whoever beat him as they did better hope they never come up against me because all I'm feeling right now towards them is pure rage and their baseball bat will be no contest against my 9.  This is a dog who absolutely lives for his work and nobody was a threat or a stranger (especially the children he was never raised around)  unless they gave him reason to be.  (Only once a year or so ago to an adult male.  A warning.  Never escallated to aggression.)  Never to a child though.  He loves them.

Sorry for the rant at the end.  Those that can, please help with prayers?

Thanks.

D.M. does not come on suddenly and if someone beat this dog with a baseball bat, there may indeed be neurological damage from head trauma. Let's hope he does improve and that the person/s who did this are caught and charged and convicted.

Some folks are just in need of a good killin'. Whoever did this would be one of them.

Both you and your dog will be in my thoughts and prayers and intentions. I still don't understand what drives people to do such disgusting, soulless things. The dogs that we train to serve us are truly very special because they often risk their lives so that we can be safe. D-dog did not deserve that, and whoever committed this cowardly act against him will meet their own fate, possibly a very unpleasant one.

Stay strong! God be with both of you!

I'm so sorry.  I hope he can recover.  Special place in hell for the jerks that did it.

My thoughts are with the dog and the owners that love him, And if they catch the one who did this tie his hands behind his back and use the same bat on him... swing away.
