I was at this police dog demonstration yesterday. They placed coloured boards and when the colour was called out the dog goes and stop at that colour. I had my 2 senses and i said that this should be tried with the handler blind folded

They are color-limited (can't see red-green) but not completely color blind. Here is a short article you may find interesting.....

I was always told that dogs cant watch TV due to their eyesight - But I have a bitch who will prove you wrong on that one!  She hates dogs on TV and cats and she can even spot cartoon characters such as the catfood advert that uses a cartoon cat.

She has learnt even with the sound off the start of the advert and leaves the room rather than be told off so I'm guessing she sees some colour and has learnt which ones end up with her getting into trouble.
