Ok...  Folks have been  putting up dogs for others comments...  so thought I'd throw out an interesting one for y'all.  His name is Fox Mulder...  he's registered with the international kennel association as a Swiss White Shepherd. and shown world wide.   But he's bred almost exclusively from American registered German Shepherds...  oh yeah... white ones btw.  (Yes, he does have a cowlick @ the top of his tail, but that's a coat funtion)

I once was a WGS breeder, showed them trained etc... and was surprised to find that Fox is heavily linebred on 2 of my guys. Mostl surprised as each was only bred to 6 females in their lives... but whatcha think??

Oh, by the way, yes, he does bite work also... lol

He's very handsome and does have the american look to him.

I don't know enough about structure to critique him.

And line bred from some of your dog's ?   Bet your proud of that connection.

How old is this dog now?

He just turned 6... and from what I've seen on their website (though I don't know Portugese) he's producing some nice pups as well.  The kids are quite young still, and if typical of the gr, gr, gr, grand parents won't mature til they hit almost 3 years of age.  With the limited genetic choices open to white colored German Shepherds Its great that they've gone from this:

back in  the mid 80's to a dog like Fox only 20 years later.  That's a free posed shot of the ole guy "Wizard" who was my heart and soul dog... and still missed... and yes, I do know his faults.. but he was one of the best of that day... Fox has an amazing 17 lines to him in 8 generations, and another 10 to Wolf  (btw, in their lifetime each was only bred to 6 bitches) who was his nephew.  (Wizard's dam- and her litter sister, were Wolf's grand dam's... some people only look @ the boys... but these two gals had a great impact in actually getting some movement/conformation into whites)... Here's what the "good" ones were 10 years before Wizard...

That's Shilo, who was one of Wolf's Gr.Sires... though flawed in conformation (especially rear angles, croop, tail set and length) but handsome and flawless temperment. This was my PPD... also winner of Dog Sled races, Early Pet therapy with crippled retarded patients, and tollerant beyond all measure of a novice trainer's errors.

Neat dogs. Why does Dunas Brancas Kennel, send Sailors along with their puppies?

I would like him better if his head was bigger, and there is something strange with his croup... I can't tell if the tail base really pops up like that out of the steep croup, or if it is a puff of fur causing a distorted look in the photo.  Neck is set on nice with good length, shoulder looks like it is good, I think he has bad feet though it's hard to for me to tell for sure in the picture.  His hock does not look quite right, though I am not sure why, I am not so great at conformational judging.  Perhaps it looks odd to me because the foot attached to it is so bad.  In the case of that hind foot, it looks very hare-foot.   I think the length and depth of body is nice.  He is pretty to look at.  Perhaps others with better skill can look at him and see more than I can, both good and bad.  Veronica

Here's another picture of the dog.  Feet look better, head looks bigger.  Pictures can be so decieving.  Interesting thread.  Veronica

Why you discuss ugly white horses here?
