OK it isn’t exactly life threatening but our 1 year old female was ‘helping’ my husband with our new deck. Now she has construction adhesive on her ear/head and some on her neck (guard hairs only) . Doesn’t bother her any but it looks like crap! She can’t reach it to chew it off so won’t make herself sick. I’m not even sure if it is toxic. I guess I either cut it out or let it grow out...one looks as bad as the other! Anyone know any tricks that will help remove it?

Here it is the worst part after a good brushing...

Hi, visit a grooming salon they have combs with razors near the bottom of the teeth.  Although it removes the coat as well (they're for matted coats I think) you're not left with horrid sissor marks.

Stripping comb or thinning shears.

Use carefully.  They're both worse than those damn furminator things.

Great suggestions, thank you.

At least the deck is looking good....

What's wrong with the furminator???

Furminator cuts/breaks a lot of the guard hairs.  Dog looks thinner and owner thinks it's accomplished something.

Better bet?  Groom more regularly, apply a little elbow grease with a good slicker brush.

Construction adhesive stand's up to even most solvent's, you have to get it off right away with a wet rag or forget it.

You could pull it out piece by piece or cut.   Don't let a dog eat it.

Oh...I guess that means it is toxic.  My DH shrugged and said 'I wouldn't eat it' which is saying something since he eats my cooking.

I haven't read a label in year's but I wouldn't want a dog eating it.   When I get it on me if I don't remove it at once it has to dry and rub off, wear off I guess is a better way to put it.

I think it means exactly what it was.  Unless it's wiped up (and you're lucky to get it all) at the instant it's dropped/rubbed/brushed on your clother no solvent or home rememdy will remove it.  Hair?  Get a haircut.

Moon's is right.  Pity I can't show you the condition of my sweatshirts and t's when I trashed them.  Once dried....done.

Not exactly a reflection of your cooking or DH's interpretation.   I wouldn't eat it either but as it's at the top and back of her ear there's no fear of that.

Get a thinning shears and take off the adhesive.  Believe me, it'll all grow back.

The other alternative is to let her keep using her hind leg to hook and pull it all out herself.

OUCH!!!
