Ya know how we say, "Oh, goodie! Dinner and a movie!"?
Mine would be saying, 'Oh goodie! Dinner and a chase!"?
Just be careful of them around the dogs. They're more fun than cats but don't exactly handle some of the chomps or a smack from a paw as well. And when you think that "surely they couldn't possibly fit through there?" cover it up. They can. And the dogs will go nuts tearing things apart to either get to or rescue them.

My cousin Ashby, from across the pond, got in a fight with his woman. When he was at work, she got rid of his 2 beloved ferrets. He is beside himself with grief. He say's they will turn up on the black market, shops and other places. His ferrets were a silver hob and a fawn hob. My cousin will probably never see them again. He is over in Leicester. I really don't know how far that is from London.

My dogs, your dogs or cousin Ashby who apparently is the true owner? Who can't have them?
Are you receiving stolen property and celebrating it?

I had a ferret in high school and he and my GSD were the best buds. He would curl up in her belly and sleep. They stink to high heaven though, even if they are de-scented, they still smell, fun for a while, but I got bored. Best of luck to you!

I agree with the smell.

tigermouse - have you had ferrets before??

by JustLurkin on 25 August 2008 - 23:08
The smell can be controlled with diligent cleanliness.
Prey drive? Cleaning up the aftermath? I had to clean up one that way. They're smart and can figure out how to get out of their cage. I found that out the hard way and had to replace carpet. Dogs ate. >>>sigh<<<
Don't get me wrong. Cowboy survived my Dane and my GSD for six years before I had to put him down and he was an adult rescue. We figure he was close to 9. He would curl up with mine but it took some doing to get there.
I'm just saying don't expect it to be a smooth road.
