This is just a situation and would like to have some opinions.
As we all known that not all breedings of 2 great pedigrees do not result in great puppies, we may end up with some good and some pet quality dogs. After all, breeding is a gamble.
Would you consider breeding a average/good bitch with a world class pedigree or would you just let her live her life as a pet. This particular bitch I am talking about is correct to every thing but is only on the smaller spectrum in size, 1/2 inch too shortof the standard. She was sold as a show/breeding prospect?
Honest, good comments would be appreciated

If she is correct and of good hips and title breed her to nice size stud dog who improves size. Half inch with size... I have seen many show dogs too small but KK 1.Dont stack as deep.Have seen many VA dogs too big standard. Remember most dogs dont look as in photo stacked. Also you have to start somewhere, Regards

This particular dog hasn't been shown yet as the breeder wants me to wait till she is 2 years for the debut. Thanks

If she bites good, and has good hips and elbows--- you definately don't want her. I'll just be a good person and take her off your hands for a few bucks, 'cause I'm kind, LOL.
Seriously, if she's not yet two, she might grow that half inch. I like the small bitches, they are so damned atheletic! My favorite conformed bitch I own only weighs 60 pounds, good lord, can she jump... Veronica

Depends on what you're trying to achieve with the breeding.
Who is the bitch and who is the dog?

Its my bitch and she will never be for sale, I have no intentions of breeding. I just looked for breeding quality because I feel that they are much better than pet quality.

She hasn't made her "debut" yet (I have no idea what that's all about) so she hasn't been in any kind of a show to be compared against other GSD's so you really don't know if she's even good or average. She hasn't been OFA'd yet so you don't know what the hip rating is. .
"Good stallions make great geldings." They shouldn't all be bred but they can make great pets and working horses.
The same can be said for GSD's. Good/average dogs (spayed and/or neutered) make great famly pets. They shouldn't all be bred.
