Well, let's hope that all of this handler data is included and regularly updated on the NASS website. Enough of rip-off handling fees and of handlers offering their services to the highesh bidder! I believe that , in this area, transparency is a must.

The only handler information available to us on the NASS website is that Mittelwest is offering up a daughter and a batch of imported handlers.
Often, when a particular kennel makes such arrangements, they are acting as a "broker" for the handler. IOW, this is a lucrative practice for the kennel brokering the services for handlers.
JMHO, of course.

What are the usual handler fees at a Siegershow? Any benchmarks? In a thread someone sent me there were not enough handlers to go around for a dog entered by Helen Gleason (an AKC Champion and SV breed surveyed in KY) so that the dog could be shown. Is there a shortage of dog handlers that results in the WDA putting up a list of handlers? Is advertising for handlers free?

I am going. I only have a veteran male and a female in the 6-9 class at this point. My fee is equaivelent to the entry fee for the class. I plan to be at the host hotel Wed. night to leave time for practice in advance of the show. I have a double room to share with someone to save costs and another double room reserved that isn't going to be used, deposit paid. Might be neat to put up a "shared accomodations" area on the website?
