I am corosponding with a breeder for a litter. The breeder told me the name of sire and said was AKC registered and that the dog was OFA Cert. I have tried locating the dog on OFA site and cannot find it. Can results be not available?
Dog in question Dodge Von Wymar I am worried because the owner has only told me the name of the dog on the phone but will not write it in an email? She said AKC papers would come with this puppy named Hemi. The puppy is out of V Yani Christinen Brunen and I could find her with AKC as well but AKC could not find a Dodge vonwymar rgistered?
I am trying to do my homework before traveling up there to buy this puppy.
Thank You,
RCale

I see that the female is listed in this database, but not how you had it spelled
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/131725.html
This seems a little fishy to me as I put Yani's name in a search engine and found this site http://hometown.aol.com/wymargsd/upcominglitters.html The site was updated August 10, 2008 and acts like Yani was bred to a Ronaldo von Zellergrund; not any dog named Dodge. I'd make sure who the sire (and dam) are before I went any further with this. Who knows what the AKC papers might say!

They can check a box on the OFA registration app. to have it not listed on the web site, just ask her what the OFA number is and then call OFA and ask them if the number can be matched with said dog. If you have any reservation on any part of your dealing with this person don't buy a puppy from her, if she is not open and up front before the sell, what is she going to be like after the sell. Just a thought

From herwebsite: hometown.aol.com/wymargsd/available2.html:
Hemi von Wymar (Drago x Catja)
4 Months old, crate trained, obedience trained, good drive, excellet focus and food drive
Drago's dam is Yanni Christinen Brunen

Also found this link which is where the Wymar thing comes into play. It does look like the sire of the litter is Ronaldo.

Maybe because of all the controversy over Drago, she's calling him Dodge?

I made a mistake the dam i listed is the mother to Dodge von wymar according to the breeder but in the link you just gave me where I had not spelled it right I found her d litter and there is no Dodge there either and those are his siblings from what she told me. Hemi's dam is her other bitch on breeders website, Catja von jabora. Hemi is about 7 months or 8 months old not as old as the d litter. In emails she calls the sire Charger and has sent me photos of him with his mom and the bitch she bred him to but says she doesn't own him.
I will try get the number for the dog as suggested to see if it has not been posted to site the lady i spoke to ran the dogs name but I didn't have the number to give her.
I agree that maybe if I feel something is off might be best to overlook. However, I have traded emails and phone calls with this breeder and got puppy updates and photos time and caring invested for almost four months. During which the breeder has had home issues and needed time. I gave her time and in meantime became attached to this pup coming, though I do understand your advice and of course if I find i am just being lied to and not just incompetent in my research I will not buy the pup.
Thank you those that have responded and have tried to help me.

Thank you Gs mom I had not seen that webpage before and appearantly it is abundantly clear I was lied to as that is the pup in question and now a different name than one given me for the sire.
I will not be doing business with this breeder and you have confirmed what i was beginning to suspect. I was out right lied to better to find out now rather than later.

I want to add, now I understand the breeder's rant to me about internet and other gsd breeders too!
I thank you all
She recently sent me an email that was also adressed to another buyer of the female she had told me she was keeping and wouldnt part with that was a fiirst clue to me perhaps there was lies and I have feeling perhaps that buyer is being lied to as well. I hope the person sees these things and knows as well what she is really getting.

RCale,
Let me be blunt. Do your homework. It seems you already have a bad feeling about what is going on here.
Let me suggest that you should check the court records in the breeders' town. She was recently convicted of stealing a dog she had sold. There seems to be some question as to whether that stolen dog sired pups while in her custody. She can explain her reasons to you herself, but essentially, what she did was unethical and dishonest. There have been other charges made about her unethical behavior as a breeder and individual. You be the judge since you are dealing with her. But this is fair warning.
I would look very carefully before you spend one cent here. Others here also know what transpired, although a few defended her actions.
