I am looking for AVERAGES on litter size of natural breedings & fresh AI breedings.

Also would like to know what the AVERAGE stud fee would be for a titled, hip certified import.

In Ecuador last year the average litter size was 4 (180 litters). These were all natural breedings as AI is not done here.

Litters can range from 1 to 10 puppies with our Kennel's average of 6 live pups. In AI breedings we have produced an average of 3 pups per litter. While some have good success with AIs; a natual breeding is better. Stud fees can be $500 to $1500+ depending on the stud and the market. Average stud fee might be $800 to $1000 plus possible boarding costs but it really depends on the specific area and kennel and stud. Typically you are guaranteed one or two live pups or you get a one time repeat breeding. If the bitch misses again then it could be her fault. Get it in writing so that you both understand the expectations and guarantees.

I recently had a bitch whelp only 2 puppies even though she had a normal mating and at peak time, the stud owner refused to take the stud fee because she said 2 puppies is not a reasonable size litter. I thought that this was most unusual but very much appreciated.
