I took my little guy (16 weeks) to the vet a week ago because I noticed he had really mucousy stool. The vet informed me he had hookworms and suggested treatment of three days Panacur then 10 days after the last dose of Panacur a double dose of Pyrantel. It has been a week and he has perked up a little and his stools are a little more formed but he is still awfully thin and I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to help him recover more quickly.

Feed well and wait. I alway's keep the young one's away from the regular kennel area's and then I know I can move them to a clean site after worm's are treated.
It will not take long for the pup to start looking better, give it a little time.

I would imagine that the little guy, is still somewhat anemic from his bout with the hooks. Make certain his gums are a healthy pink/red color, and not white. I would add some liver to his diet. Some Canine or Equine Red Cell, would be of benefit as well. I would also order some of the B-12 below.

Thanks guys...
The little guy looks abused. Here is a picture of him before the problem. I am very excited, he is my own pup and we have been down to a club for training... I hope to follow through and eventually title him myself. Then perhaps use him in our breeding program. I guess I'm dreaming big... one step at a time. His pedigree is here on the database.

By the way, I did forget to mention he is fed a raw diet.

That's a good looking dog, Not too shabby on the pedigree either, I'm no expert.
Make sure his raw diet is fresh and good quality.
Alway's have those dream's.
