If you lived on the east coast USA and was looking to purchase an import pup from some one a total stranger on the left coast Ooops I mean the west coast USA what precautions would you take.
Having seen all the tales of woe from buyers dealing with breeders on this forum I feel just a wee bit queasy about this whole undertaking. Any advice would be appreciated.

When you buy a puppy, you mostly buy on the pedigree and the integrity/reputation of the seller.. It pays to know the bloodlines. Every puppy is a gamble.

Know who you're dealing with or have damn good references that you know well. Otherwise, don't take the chance.
Brokers and some breeders talk a good game.
