I was just about to send off my WDA membership when I discovered that the guidelines for SV "a" stamp and elbow evaluations have been removed from the WDA website.

Can anyone elaborate on this?  I was preparing for submitting my girl's X-Rays in September but now I don't know what to do.  I need to ensure that she has a breed survey that will be recognized in Germany when she is eventually ready to be bred, but now I don't know if this can be done from this side of the pond?

You can also get both done through USCA.  I sent my x-rays beginning of June and the results took about 10 weeks total to get back.  Elbows were read  (and rated) July 2nd and hips were read (and rated) July 28th.

Make sure you send a certified copy of the 4 generation pedigree, AKC registration and confirmation of the ear tattoo.  You also have to make sure all the correct information is on the x-rays when they are taken.

But you know what?  I just went to the UScA site and could find nothing on elbows anymore just hips!  I wonder if a change is coming down the pike?

There never was any info on about Elbows.  When you send the x-rays you have to send a credit card number so they can run the charges in Germany since USCA doesn't have the charges for the elbows just the hips.

Oh okay, thanks for the clarification.  I have a set of hips and elbows that I THOUGHT I had already sent to UScA  but  apparently I never did - (I'm not sure whether to blame that on a recent move or call it a senior moment).  I will be sending them in as soon as I can retrieve the packet from where I packed it away,  so thanks for the information.

...and then there is the current, apparent attempt to take over WDA, so everything must go via GSDCA to the SV.

I am sure that this will be discussed, or could be brought up on the Greenboard.

nia, please share this info with the rest of us, or at least tell us where we can find it.

Email to WDA:

I was just about to send off my WDA membership when I discovered that the WDA SV "a" stamp and elbow evaluation guidelines have been removed from the WDA website.

Does the WDA still provide this service for members?   Reply:   Yes, we do.  The guidelines are being revised and will be back up soon.

Does this have to do with the email I received very recently from GSDCA?  Dang, and the system finally went smoothly for me with the person handling this stuff last year. As opposed to the person before.
