vonissk:  I am not surprised at this at all...we all better pull it up and vote....Jane Steffenhagen of SteffenHaus told me years ago that akc was the crookest registry in the world, and everytime the doorbell rang, her employees would shout  ,,Jane , it might be akc...but only one we have...so we are stuck.

I have had several occasions to ask them for help on my stolen stud , to people erasing my x in the appropriate square and signing my name and you  have to get a court order from a judge and spend a 100 bill to get anything corrected., with them and they dont give a hoot..

I assume we   vote   NO    I read it in a hurry and I just registered a litter and I expected to see an article about  only online registration now,,,not this.....    UNGLAUBLICH

Just one more reason that the truth is all AKC cares about is money money money.  I co owned a dog with someone once.  They signed my name to the papers and took me off as co owner.  Now what do you think happened?  Absolutely nothing.  The dog ended up in limbo so to speak--no more obedience, dog couldn't be bred, sold etc etc.  What did they do to the person?  Nothing as long as she didn't try to do anything with that dog or have anything else--AKC dog wise--to do with me.  So I'm not surprised either.

AND NOW WE MUST HAVE A CONTRACT THAT SAYS IN DEFINATE WORDS, WHEN YOU SELL  THIS SAID DOG, IN THIS REGISTRATION NUMBER ---------- YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE NAME NOR CAN THE NEXT OWNER OR YOU CANNOT BREED THIS DOG NOR CAN THE NEXT OR ANY NEW OWNER AFTER YOU , IF YOU CHOOSE TO SELL THIS DOG WITH MY PERMISSION...OR WITH OUT MY PERMISSION M, YOU WILL FACE OPTION OF CHARGES BROUGHT BY ME THE BREEDER...                                ..BOY O BOY

MUST HAVE AN ATTORNEY , I GUESS...

Time to start a new, more restrictive registry in America?

It was only a matter of time.  From I.L.P.'s to this.

That largest puppymill of them all...AKC.

Had a similiar thing happen with AKC... Bitch puppy on co-ownership was bred to a dog that was specifically forbidden in the contract because I knew it had severe elbow dysplasia.. supposedly they wanted a female to pup to raise and breed to a sound dog...  they bred Her to this male, and when I refused to sigh AKC papers they appealed to the AKC. The response was that they only certify that two dogs were actually the parents, and as that was not the issue refusing to register the puppies would have posed a "hardship" to the dishonest bastards.... so they allowed them to be registered with only one of the co-owners signing. So much for contracts... (this was before the day of limited registratons) As they lived in a distant state I couldn't afford to travel there and hire a lawyer to file for damages... which was AKC's suggestion.

So much for trying to be a responsible breeder and selling pups on limited.  May as well jack up your prices and sell them all with full registration.  Greed sucks.

Or just spay and neuter them before they go to their new homes!

The problem with starting a new registry is it will not be recognized by FCI, they only recognize one registry in the USA and that's AKC.
