Wish you the best of luck!  My brother and I went through this last year. Saw and ad our parents even went with us all met Mike Meyers and his family. Thought he knew a lot visited the pups 3 times before we picked up. Ofcourse this being our first expeirence we didn't search the breeder and we only paid $800 for 2 pups! We thought we were getting a deal. Saw the parents and thought their european papers said he would mail the AKC papers. He e-mailed a couple of times when we asked about them. Then nothing and I started to research him and found out what a HUGE fraud he is and nobody can do anything!!! I even talked to the county sheriff in his area AKC don't care they just want their money. Basically you can take him to small claims which in our case we would have to spend more money even the police said they have a hard time delivaring papers to him!! He is a dangerous and he turns the situation on you. We ended up finding good homes for our pups because we though with no paper and coming from him it's hard to tell what we had or what health problems they might have.

SO ALL YOU CAN DO (besides small claims if you have the funds and info for breeder) IS POST EVERY FRAUD NAME OUT THEIR SO OTHERS WHO DO RESEARCH SEE IT

Better businee Bureau : Dept of Ag in your area: Attorney General    any where and everywhere

So good luck and post the names

I sure understand your plight MNGSDLUVER, I also recently paid $2000 + $645 shipping for a dog from Sarah Fox/USIMPORTS.  She promised to send registration paperwork, his hip x-rays, all health tests I paid extra money for, etc. back in July 08.  After over a month of waiting for him to be shipped once paid for, he finally came.  But now it's Dec,  and no papers/vet records/hip x-rays YET.  And seller hasn't  responded to my calls/e-mails.  Imagine that!  So I also have a wonderful dog that is a pet only for almost $3000 invested!  talk about getting screwed!

to YR- you're right, there's nothing like a woman scorned, especially a redhead.   I'M A REDHEAD!

I purchased a dog from Seferhaus (Amel) and went to his home in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He and his wife were both very nice people.  The puppy was purchased from him and his co-owner.  I saw the mom and dad but the mom was a bit aggressive so we couldn't spend time with her.

Per Amel, he had just imported several animals but didn't realize that he could not "breed" and sell dogs from his home.  It was against the Home Owner Association bilaws.  Therefore he was selling some animals.  This was in late 2007.  My only problem is that I was told the papers would be forwarded to me later, they needed to finish registering the litter.  I accepted this.  It took me calling his partner and emailing them several times, but the papers finally arrived.  Hoever, the registration was listed as a "limited" registration.  This was never discussed at all when the deal was made.  I have been trying to contact him to get this changed but have had no luck doing so.

Oh well. If anyone has info on how to change a limited registration if you are the purchaser, then please advice.

sORRY CAMBY, BUT THERE IS NOT CHANGING THE LIMITED REGISTRATION FROM THE BREEDERS REQUEST THAT IT BE SOLD THAT WAY.

THIS IS ONE OF MY PET PEEVES.

I dont sell pups for breeding and I limit all my papers.  So it is discussed, and agreed and you wont believe how deceptive people are....Two have crossed out the box, wrote a note on the top of it and signed  my signature that I made a mistake...

One thing for sure, is AKC, knows me very well, and they dont accept those kinds of crossthrus and they send you out a letter of determination..  Recently, AKC, sent the determination paper to the man holding the akc application, who had dishonestly signed my name and said I made a mistake,,and he  took it upon himself to put a check mark in the box that said,,,,this litter is to be registered with an unlimited registration.

He brought me the paper with the backwards check mark , already in the box, and he told me  AKC put it there.. I laughed in his face.,took my pen and made a huge big X mark down the whole page, and told him...here,,send that in now...Liar..

I called AKC, wrote an indept letter and end of that registration being changed..   Sorry Camby , but breeders have reasons why we limit it. and we dont usually change , unless;you  get hips OFA certified, get a title on dog, and show responsibility .

Some breeders have contracts that are agreed upon between the buyer and the seller concerning limited and unlimited registrations...Unless you find that breeder and she writes AKC a letter , instructing akc to change the limited, you're  just out of luck.

I can understand it and it may not have swayed my decision to buy her, it just would have been nice if his partner had advised me of that fact from the begining rather than it being a discovery once the papers arrived.

Oh well, lesson learned I guess, just when you think you have asked everything, think of more questions to ask.

BTW, the breeder responded and I have made my request, hopefully he will change it when he responds, luck me if he does.
