It's a problem, that you have dishonest people in the business of selling dogs. I think there's only 2 ways of buying a dog from another country, and one is you fly over and see the dog in person, if everyrthing is ok then you want to see the papers to make sure there right and when you give them the money the same time you have them sign over and hand you the papers and at least you have them then.

The 2nd is fly the person over here with the dog and give them around trip ticket just in case the paper work is not right or it may not be the right dog. That way you get to see the dog in person and if the paper work check out and then you have sign over the papers to you and you give them the money at the same time.

But if you go to there country or you bring them here, I would still re xray them to make sure the hips and elbows are ok and if it's a male , I would check  his spearm to make sure he was fertile and I may even want to see his bite work to make sure he bites.

Hello all you kind hearted responders! Just wanted to add on to this topic. There are literally people are selling their shepherds at a cost you wouldn't believe. One of the responders was absolutely right that people are posting someone's nice dogs/ or enhance the pictures to make their dogs look pretty in the eyes of the behold. People like you should get the names and name of the kennel and post it on here. These are criminals and evil!!

As far as paying for $2000 dog without papers, I'm experience  this similiar situation and hoping for a positive outcome. I bought a female shepherd with A stamp as I told. The dog was bred in the State, not an imported. They told me her AKC paper must be submitted to it register. Then the paper will be sent to Germany, and finally the I will the paper to get it registered to me.

Is this true? Please help!! I sure will go all out to make this breeder and their names be posted all over is applicable.

Thanks for sharing!!

Ninja181 - I know Beth had breast cancer and was in remission last I heard, I talked to her all about it. She seemed very honest, I did alot of research on the internet before agreeing to buy the dog, since there a lot of unscrupulous people out there I was trying to be careful. Beth seemed like a great person when I talked to her on the phone. The problem is Beth put the classified ad on here, Beth listed the dog on HER website, I paid Beth the money for the dog! If Beth did sell the dog for her friend (I didn't find out until 8 months later that she sold Lord for a friend) then she needs to make this right. I have absolutely no legal recourse against her friend Gina as she was never a part of the transaction! I do not care about the money, as long as I get my boy's papers!

I was told Beth imported the 4 puppies when they were 3 months old, I bought Lord when he was 7 months old, it's now almost a year later and still no papers, I think it's plenty of time for either Beth or Gina to get the papers from Serbia and give them to the owners. If she was selling the dog for a friend, why wasn't I informed that it wasn't actually her dog? I would be happy to share the emails I exchanged with Beth as I've saved all of them.

Mngsd,

I would suggest you deal with this yourself.

I would.

Everybody is happy when both sides get what they want. The true character comes out when you have problems.

He already has dealth with two women who have come up with nothing...Now its time to make it public. The courts have nothing but money to be spent...If I spent 2,000.00 and a year later had no email or a letter in the mail from either or , I would be on  her doorstep.

Hell , hath no fury like that of a scorned  woman. especially a redhead.

All it takes is a letter or some communication..Have you sent a certified letter to Ms Coats..If not get on in the mail right now,,return signature  asap. give her the ultimation and demand your papers or an explanation , as to why  you do not have them..

THAT IS THE FIRST THING HAS TO BE DONE. GIVE HER LEGAL NOTICE...IF SHE REFUSES THE LETTER CERTIFIED BY US MAIL , THEN NEXT STEP IS GONNA BE COSTLY..NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO OR DONT DO NEXT. , MAKE SURE YOU NOTIFY HER WITH A CC TO AKC, TO THE BREEDER AND TO HER SO CALLED FRIEND GINA.

THEN THE BALL IS IN HER COURT, LIKE LITERAL COURT...A SLANG WE USE..

MNGSDLUVR,

This was the 2nd sentence of my previous post.

"I'm not picking sides here, but I would like to hear her story of what happened".

I was not alluding in any way that your story was not true.

There have been numerous threads posted here of buyer vs. seller and in most cases the whole scenario changed when the second side posted their version of the same events. Again I'm not drawing any conclusions, just suggesting we hear the other side before we lynch someone.

Your Dog is very nice looking by the way!

The woman is well enough to buy dogs and well enough to sell dogs, but too sick to pay for them and provide papers. I'm calling bullshit on that one.

I would send a certified letter, then see about criminal charges. Fraud is involved (possibly interstate). Talk to your states attorney general, as well as the AG in her state. You are going to need proof that papers were to be provided.

If you can find out who owned the dog in Europe, see if you can get a statement from them.

A civil case could get costly, but there are things you can explore without getting in too deep.  At least go down swinging.

The pic on his pedigree was taken when he was 7 months old, this is a recent pic of him. I just love this boy to death, he follows me everywhere (even into the bathroom LOL!), sleeps on the floor by the bed, he is such a loyal boy and we have such good bond too. It just breaks me heart that I can't get his papers.

I had someone contact me privately, they stated that B. Coats is being sued right now by several individuals for not receiving their papers and some others for health issues of the dogs they bought from her. I did have Lord's hips xrayed and my vet said they looked pretty good and he should pass OFA when he reaches 2, so at least his hips are good.

This is the second post in a week that someone paid $2000.00 and didn't get their papers!!  This should put a strong dose of reality to anyone considering buying a dog over the internet.    Once the money passes hands you have very little recourse.    Do your homewok before hand.
