I tuned in to this live webcam a couple of times, but nothing much happening. Then it was gone.
What happened to the bitch? Why was the camera shut down?

be glad you didn't see it, Echo. The bitch had a stillborn pup, followed by a live pup. According to people watching, the pup seened fine, and was making happy puppy noises and nursing. Then, I am fairly sure, the owner fell asleep, and the bitch got into distress when trying to whelp the next pup. In her distress, she ate the live pup. She gave birth to another still born pup, which she buried under newspaper in the corner of the whelping box. There were no more pups after that.
One of the board members managed to get the owner's phone number and called him. There was no answer, so she tried agian. The phone must have woken him up, as this time he answered. He called the vet for the bitch, and took her in to be looked at. There were no more pups.
If he'd been more attentive, at least one, and possibly all 3 pups might have been saved.
Some people shouldn't breed dogs.
Some people shouldn't breed, PERIOD!!

Bloody hell, that is so sad. Last time I had a look, I could hear a pup making noises, but could not see it. The bitch was not doing anything much for a while, so I tuned out. Sounds like I turned it off at the right time. No way would I have wanted to see such a thing that followed. Thanks for letting me know.
I have seen this live webcam done before with a litter of Pugs. Thankfully all went well and it was great to be able to tune in any time and take a peek. Especially good watching them develope to the point where they started wobbling on their legs, then progressing to play fighting and eventually climbing out of the whelping box.
I know we have all seen this before, but there's something cool about being able to take a peek at someone else's pups whenever you like. Pity the above litter wasn't so fortunate.
