Where is the best place to buy The German Shepherd Dog in Word and Picture? For those who have read it, is it worth the read? Is there alot to learn from it?

Thank you

They're all reprints, probably even the $343.59 copy available on amazon.  Direct from the publisher is the best price, and I just wanted to show how good in comparison.  If you find an original, better hold on to it. ;-)

Hoflin usually has quality products.  You'll be fine with a reprint.

Also check Ebay.   You can either cruise it now & then or else adjust your profile to notify you if one comes up.  I got mine on Ebay and paid a lot less for it, but put a max. on your bids.  Sometimes the Ebay ones go for ridiculously high prices.

If you're ok with the reprint (I would be), go to Hoflin.  The book is worth it for so many reasons.  You'll have great fun just looking at the photos.

I have both a German and an English original print version. They are both for sale, and yes, I paid a lot for them because they are collectors items. So if one is a collector, it may be worth the money to buy such a book as they are becoming more and more rare.

However, the reprints for people interested only in the information (which is sometimes dated) and the photos is a good deal. As for pricing of the reprint, I just paid more than $25 for a paperback the other daythat I wanted to read . My course books now routinely cost between $125 and $180. So like everything else, books are more and more expensive too.

YES it's worth getting,  whatever version you can find and afford.  If for nothing else than to appreciate the man's passion for his breed.  Very very good reading.
