how to insert picture in post? - Page 1

i was sure this was asked a million times, but searching keeps turning up all sorts of other results and no instruction posts, so I apologize for repeating if this gets asked a lot...

I was trying to participate in a couple of the photos threads (like owner photos) but can't figure out how to do it?  Is there an easy way to put a picture into these posts?   i can find the little icon that says "Insert/ Edit Image" but nothing happens when  I click on it.  I'm officially technologically retarded so that's about the extent of what I can try myself!  

Can someone help?

Hi Heather,

I was the same, I had no idea either and had to ask.

Here we go:

1) Click on the icon on the second row on the right of the screen which looks like a mountain with a sun. (When your cursor moves over it, it says  Insert/Edit image)

2) Click upload

3) Click browse

4) Select the photo you would like from your computer and double click

5) Click on send to server. (sometimes photos can take a long time to upload dependent on the quality and size, so it can take a few seconds to a few minutes depending on whether you are using broadband or dial up, so dont worry if you dont see something straight away)

6) You will then see a message saying file successfully uploaded. Click ok

7) You will now see a preview window where you can see the image. You can change the size of the photo if you wish. To do this enter the size of your choice in the width. The height will be changed automatically once the width is changed.

8) When you are happy click ok

It sounds like a lot to do but once you have done it once or twice it really is simple.

For some reason, when i click on that button with the "Insert/Edit image"   I get that chime noise like when something is disabled or not allowed  and nothing happens.  Hmm..  so that is the button though..  so now I have to figure out why it's not working for my computer...   thank you!!

I think this works!!   Had to get out of AOL and come back with internet explorer!!!   Thanks again..   lets see if this posts!

I am glad that it finally worked for you. Maybe AOL was not allowing the pop up window. Lovely photo, your dog looks really focussed.

Im wondering how to post a picture in the box on our thread here.

Cannot find any instructions anywhere. Don't know how to post on the message either.

Are you needing help with changing your profile pic?

If you want to post a pic on the message itself,  if you follow the instructions I gave Heather in the earlier post, it will definitely work.
