Can someone explain to me what

example

 

5-4 pedigree means.

 

There used to a article here explaining this before but cant find it now.

a common ancestor shows up in the 5th generation on the sire, and fourth on the dam

say 3,3 on Ursus, he would be in the third gen. on both sides of the pedigree
